Many of you will be aware that the Council has been through the process of reviewing current provision of Primary Education to plan for the future.
The Plan for September 2009 was rejected except for the amalgamation of some infant and junior schools. This resulted in the setting up of the Independent Policy Commission on Primary School Organisation in Shropshire which set about hearing evidence and then reported back in July 2009 ( the document can be found on the Shropshire council website at http://www.shropshire.gov.uk/policycommission.nsf ). This is now the trigger for more consultation around the county. Councillors worked on this at Scrutiny Panel last Wednesday 16th September, the aim being to have a plan for February 2010.

The Local NUT Division will be working to consider employment issues and taking part in consultations. Members are encouraged to attend the Area meetings of the Council on this issue.
